Acronis Cloud Backup to AWS S3 - Is it possible?

Thread needs solution

My apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum or if this has been asked previously, but I was unable to find an answer, so I will post it here.

We own 3 host server licenses for Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 for VMware.  We have run out of local disk storage for backing up our VM's.  We already pay for AWS S3 storage for other purposes.  I would like to use Acronis to backup our VMs to AWS S3 since we have scalable storage space and would like to implement this for VMware v5.5.  Can anyone please tell me if the version of Acronis we are presently using will support backing up to AWS S3 storage?  Thanks in advance.

Alex

Hello Alex,

Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 does not support direct backups to AWS or other S3 cloud storages.

This support should be available with Acronis Backup Advanced 12 sometime next year.

Hello Tim,

Acronis Backup 12.5 currently supports storing the file/folder backups on the network shares hosted in Microsoft Azure Storage. On how to configure such backup see https://kb.acronis.com/content/58122

Extending support of Amazon S3/Azure/S3 compatible storage types is still in our plans.

Hi Ekaterina Surkova

Any update about that?  Now Acronis 12.5 supports S3 Amazon Storage?

Hello Julio,

welcome to Acronis forums!

Extending support of Amazon S3/Azure/S3 compatible storage types is now added in Acronis Software-Defined Infrastructure (incl. Acronis Storage Gateway) which is available as an add-on for Acronis Backup 12.5. Thus, you will be able to create backup locations in Acronis Cyber Infrastructure which supports S3 backends.

Hello Julio,

I suggest that you use this Storage Calculator and call Sales Department for pricing information.
