Backup always fails with because of Image Builder issue

Thread needs solution

Hello,

we backup in 2 steps:

1. Backing up all the servers onto the Hard Driver (2tb partition)
2. Backing up all *.tib files from the hard driver to a LTO-5 Tape

The Problem we have is, that the tape backup job fails right in the beginning but we cant figure out why.

We use a german Version of the Software but I can post the log of the failed job:

Befehl 'Backup' ist fehlgeschlagen.

Hello SuH-AS,

Thank you for your posting! Please install the lastest version 43994 and run inventory.

Thank you,

Hello,

thanks for the reply.

I already have the newest Version of Acronis installed and also tried to run an inventory multiple times but it's still not working.
I also wanted to mention that the task fails 3 seconds after you start the job (it jumps from 0% to 12% and then the job fails).

I also tested the tape drive with the diagnostic tool from the tape drive manufacturer and did an firmware update but nothing helped.
This is the succesfull test of the tape drive, so the issue has to be within the Acronis software

I tried to change the path from tape to a network storage (NAS) and it works, only if i try to backup onto a tape drive it fails.
I also tried to backup onto a brand new tape and created an new tape pool, but it didn't help.
It worked until the 2nd September 2015 without problems, since then i always get the error mentioned above without anything being changed on the job.

I really need your support, our customer is giving me hell.

best regards,
Alexander Schmidt

Hello,

This type of error is often related to problems with the vault itself. I can't provide a specific cause without running troublshooting for this problem, but I would suggest creating a new managed tape vault and trying to run the backup to your new vault.

Thank you
