Acronis Backup Fails

Thread needs solution

We are backing up to a Server and a Tape Drive,

 

The Backup to the server seems to run fine but when we try to backup to the tape drive we get the following error messages. 

any help is much appreciated

Please make inventorying of this tape (e.g. fast inventorying) and then launch this backup again.

I'm using Acronis Backup Server 11.7. I have this error on 2 of my VM after I re-install the VM.

Hi!

According to the error message the snapshot creation fails due to the Microsoft Hyper-V VSS Writer not functioning correctly. To troubleshoot the issue please follow instructions from the following article. The article also provides some background information on the Volume Shadow Copy services. Since the issue occurs on the particular virtual machines, I'd also recommend checking if snapshot creation works correctly per instructions from https://kb.acronis.com/content/45632#Hyper_V6 

If the issue persists, please raise a support ticket for the more indepth investigation.
