Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 - Centralized manged Vault : unable to catalog images

Thread needs solution

Recently I create a centralized managed vault to run my 2 deduplication backup plan and I have the problem to view the images info in the data view.

It's always require me to update the catalog , but nothing appear in my Data View after the "catalog now" is click , I follow the guide as link below for trouble shooting...

Solutions:
◾If cataloging is disabled
◾On a managed machine: Enable cataloging in the Backup cataloging option (Options > Machine options)
== Check in my both server , it's activate ==

◾On the management server: Enable cataloging by modifying the Windows registry.
== In my regedit.msc , I can't found the "Enabled" folder , it's only until the "catalog" folder ==

◾On the storage node(s): Enable cataloging by modifying the Windows registry.
== Same as management server , I can't found the "Enabled" folder , it's only until the "catalog" folder ==

This type of problem can have a lot of different root causes and it would be hard to offer any specific solutions without more details.

- Could you clarify what sort of data you are backing up to the vault?
- Is the cataloging activity running and finishing without errors?
- Do you see any changes in the folder specified for catalog storage? Is this a standard local folder?

I backup all my file server data to the vault( Microsoft document , picture , drawing , compression file and etc. ).

Nope , there is no process performing after I click the "catalog now" button , and also nothing found in the log.

- Do you see any changes in the folder specified for catalog storage? Is this a standard local folder?
Not so sure , but my catalog.db in my catalog database is stopped at 30-12-2014.
My Deduplication Database locate at local D drive ,
Storage Path locate at NAS Storage A( network share )
and my catalog database locate at another NAS storage B( network Share )

Hello,

The problem is probably related to the fact that the catalog is also on a network share. Is this a standard SMB network share? Also, what build are you using?

The cataloging background task might be frozen which is causing this behavior. If there are no backup-related activities running (backup, indexing or compacting of dedup vault), one possible solution is to restart the Acronis Storage Node service.

Hello ,

We using DFS network share. The build is 11.5.39029.

I do restart the Acronis Storage Node Service then catalog again , but there only "indexing vault" is running.

Hello,

while the vault indexing cataloging can not be started.

I would advise you to contact our Support to clarify the exact reason of the problem.

Please collect in advance following logs:

1. System Report from the Storage Node

2. Process Dump of the service_process.exe on the ASN machine. The exact command:

procdump -ma service_process.exe

3. Description: where the vault in question is placed, where its deduplication database and its catalog are.
