Acronis Backup of Surface Pro with Bitlocker enabled

Thread needs solution

I have read articles that say not to use the Acronis Backup 11.7 bootable media to create a backup of a drive encrypted with bitlocker. However it does work to backup a Surface Pro encrypted with bitlocker.

I am not an expert on how bitlocker works (differently?) when there is a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) but it seems to perform the encryption at a low level hardware layer. With that in mind, I understand that it would not successfully restore to other hardware. But would it not be able to restore to the exact same hardware so long as the TPM wasn't reset?

Hi

Install Agent for Windows on the Surface Pro and configure backup. Data will be backed up in decrypted state.

Then you can recover the data to another hardware. After recovery you should enable Bitlocker.
