Acronis MMS slows down system shutdown *massively*
Hi all,
sorry if this has been posted thousands of times before. I have used the forum search and did not find anything that matches my specific issue, hence this post...
Even though my machine should be pretty fast, I observe very slow shutdowns. According to xbootmgr (system shutdown analysis, see screenshot attached), the Managed Machine Service takes more than 40 seconds to shut down (the end is not visible in the trace though). It is NOT busy at the time, I ensured there are no backups being executed. The system shutdown takes more than a minute to complete now. The machine should be lighning-fast though, and shutdowns took less than 10 seconds before I installed ABR.
You can see from the trace analysis screenshot that the CPU is mostly idle during the "MMS Stop" period so I assume that MMS is actually waiting for something on the network, maybe. The logs do not indicate any problem, and backups are reliably executing every day at 10:00.
Windows is set up as a member of my Windows domain to which I am not always connected when on the move. I discovered that it does not actually make any difference in shutdown speed whether the domain controller is present in the network or not. MMS seems to do / wait for something else.
Please let me know what I can contribute to solve this issue. Thanks!
Regards,
Johannes Franke

Dear Mr Larin,
thanks for your advice. The problem is partly resolved. The slowdown occurs mostly when I am in "foreign" networks, not my own domain network. At home, or with the network completely disconnected, the shutdown takes about 15 seconds whereas it takes about 30 seconds more when I am in a different company network. While it continues to seem a little odd, I think I can live with that.
Best regards,
Johannes Franke
