Archiv names

Thread needs solution

Hi,

since 3 months I do not see the correct date and time in the filenames generated by B&R see picture. The last archivs has all the same Date and time in the filename (marked yellow) I have no idea why it's changed. Has somebody an idea to come back to the naming with the red arrows?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi

Date and time in the tib file name is the archive creation date. As you may know, archive consists of the backups - usually each backup is kept in separate tib file. File name template is the following - "<Archive name specified by the user>_<Archive creation date><Archive type><Backup number> .tib", where <Archive type> can be "D" - disk backup or "F" - file backup.

This means that each backup will have the same substring in the file name - "<Archive name specified by the user>_<Archive creation date>".

Dear Ramil,

yes I know but in this case the archive creation date is always the same expect the two with the red arrows in the picture. It was working till may 27th. The yellow marked archives has the same creation date but the creation was later see windows date.

Remark!!! the user given name is just Archiv - !!!!!!!

You have any hints.

Rainer

I guess, you configured schedule as "full - every month, incremental - every Friday", correct?

This explains situation: on the picture you have 3 backup chains:

1) Archiv_2016_03_25_03_00_21_643D - full backup at the and of March I guess.

2) Archiv_2016_04_29_03_00_26_089D - full backup at the end of April

3) Archiv_2016_05_27_03_00_28_117D - full backup at the end of May

and then you have incremental backups every week

Every full backup creates new chain and changes date in the file name template. Look at the attached screenshot.

Hi Ramil, maybe I boring you but :

I use Grandfather/Father/son as backup rule. The system is doing daily and weekly archives but no monthly and all (for my understanding) with the wrong date in the filename.

I put your picture with my remarks attached. for my understandind the date have to change daily in the archive name - but this does not happen on my system.

In your Grandfather/Father/Son (GFS) scheme, only monthly backup is full. This explains everything.

Monthly backup - full, weekly - differential, daily - incremental. You have new backup chain F+I+...+D+I for every month.

Ramil I think we don't talk about the same thing!!!!

Why I do not have a full backup in June?

Why all may backups have the same date in the name? Archive_2016_05_27..........  this was not before. Mar --> Archiv_2016_03_25_03_00_21

Apr --> Archiv_2016_04_29_03_00_26  May Archiv_2016_05_27_03_00_28 and all following archives have the same date and time

Maybe very simple - is the date changing only with a full (mothly) backup? And in my case the monthly backup in June is missimg and this is the reason why my backups created in July have still the date of May in the filename.

Is this the case??

Correct. Date in the file name is changing only with full (monthly) backup.

To investigate the issue with missing backup in June, please create support ticket.
