archive password doesn't work with bootable media
I have Acronis Backup 11.7 installed on my laptop. I make one set of daily backups on the laptop (in the Acronis Secure Zone), and a separate set of backups on a file server. All of the backups, and the Acronis Secure Zone, are encrypted with the same password. I know this password works, because I've recently used it in Windows to view my backups and recover files.
Now my laptop won't boot, so I'm trying to recover from a backup using the bootable version of Acronis Backup 11.7. When I boot to Acronis, I can see both my file server and the ASZ. When I try to browse the ASZ, I enter the archive password, and it works. I can see the backup archives within the ASZ.
If I try to open any of the backup archives, both in the ASZ and on the file server, it asks me for a password. When I enter the password for the archive, it doesn't work. It doesn't actually say that the password is wrong--it just keeps asking me for the password, over and over again.
Obviously this is a major problem. I've been using Acronis to make backups for years, and I was counting on being able to restore those backups if necessary. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I solved the problem by creating new bootable media with the latest build. It was very difficult to figure out how to create bootable media without being able to boot the machine--the only way I could do it was by doing a clean install of Windows and reinstalling Acronis Backup. It's a shame that Acronis doesn't have a downloadable copy of the boot disk that works without a license, at least for restoring an existing backup.

Hello Kaphka,
thank for sharing the outcome: glad to know that issue is solved.

Sorry for not pointing you with instructions: the ISO file with the latest version of Acronis Bootable Media for your Acronis Backup version is available for download in your Acronis Account. Please read the following KB article for detailed instructions.

Those instructions are incorrect. There is no Acronis Backup ISO available for download on my account. When I select Acronis Backup 11.7 in my account, the only download available is the .exe installer. If I click "other components," it takes me to a page that lists some additional downloads like Acronis Universal Restore, but I still can't find a bootable ISO for Acronis Backup.
My original problem is solved now, but it would still be good to know where I can find an ISO in case this happens in the future (or someone else has the same issue.)
