Backing Up a non-Domain Computer using Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 on a Domain

Thread needs solution

As the title says, I have an installation of Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7 on our domain, and have been using it for test backups, and we wanted to build a physical machine to backup and test with, but this machine is not a domain member. I had to manually install the agent because I couldn't get the remote agent install to work. Then, I tried to connect the machine to the AMS, and it connects properly using the local admin on the physical machine, but fails to add, I'm guessing because it's trying to use domain credentials. Is there a way to do this without adding the computer to the domain?

Thanks!

Scott

Hello Scott,

thank you for posting.

We do not expect any specific issues with adding a non-domain Agent to AMS on a domain.

We suggest that you specify the remote machine's user name when adding this PC to AMS in .\administrator format in order to indicate that it is not in a domain.

it connects properly using the local admin on the physical machine, but fails to add

What is the text of an error message?

I'm guessing because it's trying to use domain credentials.

Yes, Acronis Agent uses domain credentials to connect to AMS which is on a domain.
