Backup file is corrupt (not visible in Acronis console)

Thread needs solution

We have Acronis managed on a Windows 2012 R2 server (primary DC) and storing to a networked Synlogy device.

Our desktops are running a full backup weekly with daily differentials.

The desktop in question has two full backups with differentials between. When loading up the recovery options the first (oldest) backup does not show up in the list. Though when browsing in windows file explorer to the network location the file is there.

Opening (double-clicking) on the TIB files in Windows file explorer works (able to browse backup discs/foders) for all files but the one in question. Attached is the error

Is there a way to recover this file?

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your posting! Copy or export the backup in question to the different (better local drive) location and validate it. Does the validation reveal any problems? If validation is sucessfull, create a recovery task (in the backup source specify the path to the backup and click on Refresh) - is the backup recognised?

Please also have a look at the following article.

Thank you,
