Is there a best practice guide avail for sql backups?

Cause when I try it on this single pass backups, the jobs take like 24 hours..
I can't have that.

The job definitely should not take 24 hours unless the databases occupy terabytes of disk space. When you back up the same disks with disabled single-pass, how long does it take?

I dont need the other part of the server, or I should say, I dont back it up.
I'm only concerned with sql..

And I'm sure my drive space is whats taking up time, even though there is no data really there.

I will check over the document and see if there is any insight.
I wish I could just backup sql and not the entire server.
