Best Practices for Vmware Conversion

Thread needs solution

We are currently backing up around 500 dekstops to a cifs share on site.

We are doing weekly incremental backups.

The backup plan then converts those TIB files to virtual machines off site.

We have a 1 GB link to that site, but the conversion seems to take a really long time.

I checked the stats on both storage nodes and they dont seem to be getting hit too hard.

Is theyre anything i can do to speed this process up?

Should something be changed in our architecture?

We are running version 11.5

Michael,

Sorry for the delayed reply (the thread seemed to be somehow hidden before), yet it's hard to suggest anything specific without checking the actual numbers, i.e. how long it takes to perform initial conversion from the backup (1st run), how long it takes on subsequent runs (when incremental conversions should be performed). Some more details would be appreciated: what's the current speed and what is expected one + checking the log files from backup task execution would help.

Thank you.
