Can Universal Restore Be Used To Remove Marvell Drivers From Image.
I want to take an image made from a Windows 7 SP1 Pro 64 OS on a hard disk attached to an Intel controller on a motherboard and restore the image to a hard disk attached to a Marvell controller on the same motherboard.
The problem I am having is that the setup attached to the Intel controller has the Marvell driver loaded so that the controller can be seen and accessed easily; however, when the image is restored to the Marvell controller hard disk and I attempt to boot the hard disk attached to the Marvell controller it Blue Screen crashes at boot time.
According to Gigabyte, the mother board manufacturer, it is because the Marvell driver should only be used on a booting drive if the BIOS is set to AHCI and my motherboard is set to IDE for all controllers. I do not want to change the setting. It would require making registry changes on the running setups. I just want to remove the driver from the image I want to copy over to the drive attached to the Marvell controller.
Can Universal Restore remove the Marvell driver?
If so, should I run it during the restore, or as a separate step after doing the restore?
TIA
