Can't add a machine to AMS Acronis Backup Advanced 11.7

Thread needs solution

My current problem is..

I have 2 machines on a network with the Management Server.  All three machines are Windows 7 (management is pro, others are home).

I've removed everything off the management server to "yet again" start over setting up this.. backup?..

When I try to add a machine to the AMS, I get a message "Currently added to Stacey" (in pretty green letters.  I click next and get:

Machines to add to the management server "STACEY":

192.168.1.115   So I click proceed> and get:

The red X of death next to my IP of the client machine and the following error message below..

ALSO I have already downloaded and tried your  ams.js  which reported everything ok..  obviously wrong..

Please forgive me for sounding angry.. I have 2 years trying to make this work and over a thousand invested in 6 machines.. Part includes paying yearly fee where I shouldn't need help to fix this and they fix it and jump out..  I've had to learn this program and the owner is angry with me..  I wish I had never heard of Acronis..  That's why I sound angry..    Funny part is the home version works great.. and isn't a quarter as complicated to setup..  It's why we bought this one..

So please help me get this working!

Hello T G Bles

Most likely the UAC was not disabled properly on the affected machine. Note that moving the UAC slider from Control Panel does not effectively disable UAC. It has to be disabled from Windows registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\system -> "EnableLUA" value must be set to 0.

See details in the following article https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Registry-Key-to-Disable-UAC-45d0df25

The  machine must be rebooted after the registry modification.

Let me know if this helped.

I believed it to be off, as I have had this problem before.  But not to be stupid, I checked and it is "0" off..

Please, what may I try next?

Also, we have AVG installed, which messes with things as often as it possibly can..  When I'm testing, I have AVG turned off.. also..  I have it set to auto allow (instead of ask or automatic) and the network set as friendly, and network set as private and I've added the whole class C Intranet as an allow rule in pocket..  But who knows, maybe that's not enough lol..   TG does not want the firewall enhancer turned off..  lol  As close to the line as I could get.. And I turn it off during testing..

One more thing to try, see Adding Machine to Acronis Management Server with Reverse Method. In short, connect to the Agent directly, then go to Options -> Machine management -> Centralized management and specify the IP of the new AMS there. Sometimes this can help if registration from AMS side produces glitches.

Me> I'm on the agent machine..  If I don't connect to any machines (local, remote or management) there are no options under options..  If I click "manage this machine" there still is not a machine management option under options..

Me> I did however see this post before..  the options didn't make sense but I did manage to find a way of adding the agent but got the same error..

Ekaterina, seriously, the backups that exist are of no use to me..  I'd like to completely remove acronis, clean out the machine from any acronis databases AND  from scratch cleanly re-install on these three machines..

The other three machines maybe working ok, I will check the one backup I got working a few days ago and if not, I'll do the same to those..

it's broken into two management systems and they are suppose to send 2nd copy to each other..  I got the 2nd copy to work but it is really really slow (vpn site to site, speed based on upload at each end)..  Still, it's way slower than the vpn speed would allow..  It shows in K bytes lol

Again, how do I do a clean removal to completely fresh re-install please??

Thank you!! for your help with this...

In reply to by truwrikodrorow…

To anyone reading this post, looking for a way of removing Acronis 11.7 backup advanced completely to re-install it..  I found this:

https://kb.acronis.com/abr115cleanuptool

What I did, I would highly recommend to others:

1) started the acronis installer I had downloaded to upgrade my product, run elevated (as administrator)

Use it to completely remove all components..

reboot

2) download/install ccleaner to remove all junk files/cache and registry crap.  (use the first two buttons on the top left.  run more than once to clean up everything).

reboot

3) using the above link, download the cleanup_tool.exe (check your OS 32bit or 64bit, must pick the right one.. honestly, if you're doing this much, you know the difference without me saying it).

The cleanup tool removed everything including the annoying sql crap that causes re-install issues..

reboot!

4) enjoy the re-install process.. The one you remember when FIRST installing the software..  to one exception..  during the sql part, it claimed I already had a database BUT IT LET ME OVER WRITE IT !!

Now to see if it fixed my issue or not..  I hope someone found this helpful..
