Changing License Key Fails

Thread needs solution

Ok so i have talked with Acronis support and have recieved no help. Maybe someone here can answer this question. I have installed Acronis Backup Advanced 11.5 Trial version (build 11.5.38573) on Windows Server 2012 R2 and have registered that to my Acronis account. The trial version works great except that it only lasts two weeks. I have a serial number for Acronis Backup 11.5 for Windows Server Essentials that was purchased by the company that owns the server with a different Acronis account. When I try to change the license key to the new one everything appears to work until pushing on "OK" for the final time, at which point it fails (the error is in an attachment). Any ideas as to why this doesnt work?

Is your server OS a Small Business Server / Essentials / Foundation ? Essentials key won't work with 'Standard' server OS.

It is Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I am guessing that this is the problem then. Thank you for the information!

Hello Justin,

please make sure that your operating system is supported by Acronis Backup 11.5 for Windows Server Essentials.

This program version supports Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 only in Essentials and Foundation editions.

Thank you.
