Conversion to VMWare targeting question

Thread needs solution

I apologize, but I don't know ESXi or Acronis very well yet as this is a new client that we are just starting to learn their environment.

We are in a unique scenario where the RAID on the local host ESX1 4.1 (Free version) is getting ready to fail. We have made certain we have good backups (2 Servers) and are working on the best timing/migration of the backups to a new ESX1 4.1 server that is being built today. They are currently being backed up to a NAS device.

I know we can run the backup and conversion in a backup job. Is it possible to directly target the folder structure of the new ESXi server for the conversion files? What's killing us is the time it takes to backup, convert and then copy the VM over or down the servers and copy the files over is simply taking such a long time with 180-240GB virtuals.

Thank you!

Hello Network Administrator,
If you install Agent for ESX(i) on the new host, and select this host in "Target host...", the agent will convert the VMs directly to this host.

However, if the new host runs Free ESXi, this is not possible.
