dedup vault is massive!! 19TB!

Hi all,
I've searched the entire web looking for an answer.
Our dedup vault is now 19TB, there is no way to shrink this.. compressing it in acronis does not help..
we've allready deleted about 7TB from our backups but the storage node does not shrink along.
the file name is unified_data.ds.0.
can someone please tell me how to make it smaller again?

Hi,
When compacting task is unable to complete due to space insufficiency it's quite a bad situation and the only option is to let this task finally finish by cleaning up the space from the storage. The required space amount typically varies from 10% to 20% of the amount of stored data, but also depends on many factors and may be greater. If there is nothing to clean up but the backups themselves, then some of them will need to be sacrificed and deleted manually, which operation would involve manual manipulations with files and this can be done only with assistance from our support team experts (this option should be the "last resort" one).
Thank you.

so.... to gain space i first need space... wich makes no sence..
i dont have any space anymore... the file is 18TB and thats the max of the drive..

Hi,
There is one more thought which may help: in your case it looks like you stored the deduplication vault database alongside (on the same disk) the actual deduplication data and the error comes because the database requires more space (rather than the space on the actual storage), so the possible workaround would be to detach the vault from Acronis Backup interface, then physically move the vault database ([GUID].niod.locality file(s)) to another disk and then re-attach the vault pointing to new database location and then let it run the compacting task.
Thank you.

Edit: the deduplication database file has [GUID].niod.locality naming. The .fdb is for location database which contains metadata of the archives.

So i moved the files to another disk with enough space.
when i now want to connect the vault i get this.
Code: 11,141,187(0x00AA0043)
LineInfo: 0xF92A612171436EAE;
Module: trueimg_remote_full_vs_50064
Message: Folder 'C:\Acronis Database NIET VERWIJDEREN\' does not contain backups of a previously detached vault. Select another folder and try again.

and i finally managed to get it connected and i got the following errors.. (lots of errors)
but somehow it is connected and showing the backups that are right...

Hi,
You seem to be providing wrong paths for the vault and/or database when trying to re-attach the vault (or moved some wrong files) - it's hard to guess without checking the actual environment and setup. I strongly recommend you to continue the investigation with help from our support team, until the things became more worse.
Thank you.

i agree.. however the support contract ended 1.5 months ago.. and because of this there is no way to contact you by phone..

Hi,
In this case the only option is to extend the maintenance contract I'm afraid. The issue is technically complicated and will definitely require involving our support team.
Thank you.
