DefaultBlockSize parameter not working on 11.7

Thread needs solution

Due I have low troughtput when writting to TAPES, I've tested to modify DefaultBlockSize as stated in AcronisBackupAdvanced_11.7_userguide_en-US.pdf (image attached with the value set):

DefaultBlockSize This is the block size (in bytes) used when writing to tapes. Possible values: 0, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, 65536, 131072, 262144, 524288, 1048576. 193 Copyright © Acronis International GmbH, 2002-2016 If the value is 0 or if the parameter is absent, the block size is determined as follows:  In Windows, the value is taken from the tape device driver.  In Linux, the value is 64 KB. Registry key (on a machine running Windows): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\TapeLocation\DefaultBlockSize Line in /etc/Acronis/BackupAndRecovery.config (on a machine running Linux): "value" If the specified value is not accepted by the tape drive, the software divides it by two until the applicable value is reached or until the value reaches 32 bytes. If the applicable value is not found, the software multiplies the specified value by two until the applicable value is reached or until the value reaches 1 MB. If no value is accepted by the drive, the backup will fail.

Tapes remain writted on 64k block size (default value of my drive).

Ive tested to write using SPTD.EXE acronis utility and I'm able to write in other block size.. so my unut is compatible

sptd.exe write_file /file:"Z:\TEST\TEST.tib" /device_path:"\\?\scsi#sequential&ven_ibm&prod_ultrium-hh4#5&3a78b047&0&000500#{53f5630b-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}" /block_size:262144

4/7/2016 11:28:22 AM (1460039609 msecs)| : speed (bytes/sec): 1.18588e+008 ; blocks (bytes): 262144 < 262144 < 262144

Does anybody knows if these new parameters are correctly implemented in ABR 11.7?

My backups on tape writes at about ~45MB/sec  with acronis.

My test backup on tape writes at about 120MB/sec with acronis sptd.exe test tool (with any block size)

In both cases backing up the same file from the same location.

My backup unit is able to writes to tapes at 120MB/sec maximun.

My discs are able to get 220MB/sec of seq. read. Also before making these tests I've purchased new empresarial class disks with 226MB/seg transfer rate.

Hello,

try to use Acronis Tool for speed testing: https://kb.acronis.com/content/57237

Probably the bottleneck is in the backup speed (network? backed up machine capabilities?). This tool will write data directly as SPTD.exe does.
