delete files through all backups

Thread needs solution

Dear all,

We are supporting a customer, using Acronis Backup. Now, the customer asked us, to permanetly delete some files from all backups.

One way, of course, is to manually delete it from the copies, or exclude it from the backup job, delete it and wait, till it is deleted after days(weeks/month.

Is there a way to delete it by a job, config, batch etc.?

Regards

Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Currently there is no such functionality to delete a specific file from old backups (we have this feature in backlog, internal ID: ABR-89507) without deleting entire backup. The task in your case can be completed only by deleting entire backups of the machine created before specific date, e.g. before the date when the file was removed from the machine or when you applied a file filters rule to exclude this file from new backups. Though it would be a manual task: browse the backup, select all recovery points until some date, then delete. I'm unfortunately not sure what could be automated in this sequence.

Thank you.
