ESX Applicance Deletes after 10 Minutes

Thread needs solution

Hello,

On I am in the trial of Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5. My My Virtual Appliances delete themselves after about 10 minutes. I can connect to my vCenter and see all the VMs under the Create Backup Plan. When I click to select local Disks, it just says loading and I can see an Appliance installing on the vCenter. After about 10 minutes, it deletes and the disk never show.

I tried just installing an Appliance first, but it still deleted after 10 minutes.

Also, can I designate a local removable disk attach the Management Console Server as the storage location?

Thanks

Hello Tom,

Thank you very much for you post. I will be more than happy to help you.
As far as I understood, during above mentioned attempt the appliances were deployed to vCenter server from Acronis Management Server side, and were deleting them due to connection timeout.
Please try to deploy Acronis ESX appliance OVF template, as described in the following Acronis KB article : http://kb.acronis.com/content/2741

Please note, that even though it is for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10, the steps described are almost the same for version 11.5.
The only essential difference is that the name of the component to be extracted from the installation file is "Agent for VMware ESX(i) (Virtual Aplliance)" instead of "ESX/ESXi Virtual Appliance".

As for the question about option to attach local removable disk as a storage.
As far as I understood, you would like to attach the removable disk to the machine where Acronis Management Server is installed and conduct backups to that disk.
You can do that considering the following:
1. The removable disk is available as a network share for all agents/appliance which are supposed to backup to it.
2. The removable disk is always plugged in at the time when any activity is scheduled with it, such as backup, replication, validation or cleanup task.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, if any issue arise, please provide as much precise description as it is possible, with screenshots or logs of the issue.

Yours truly,
