Exchange server

Thread needs solution

Hi,
My customer stop using Symantec backup exec and want to use ABR11.5A.

They have symantec exchange agent in exchange server and don't want to remove it.

1. So can I disable symantec exchange agent services and add exchange server from acronis management console? (Acronis Management console on other server)
Is there any impact?

2. Is there any downtime/reboot need when I add exchange server into acronis management console?

Thanks

Hello IT Support,

Thank you for posting this question in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

You will find all necessary steps in our online help section for the installation. You need to ensure, that you have the right Hotfix installed in order to backup the Exchange database. Over all the installation of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 does not require any reboot of your server. How to backup the MS Exchange database, you can find here.

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

I had MS Exchange2k7 installed on a win2003 server. I reformatted the drive and wiped out everything. Can I use Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Microsoft Exchange Server to restore the previous install and its settings?
I reinstalled the OS but not MS Exchange.

Hello LHernandez,

Thank you for your posting.

The Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 for MS Exchange Server is only for backing up the database from Exchange installation. In order to get back the MS Exchange installation, you need to restore the machine using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5. But if you have already reinstalled the operating system, you should also setup the Exchange product and then restore the information store into the new Exchange database. You do not need to define more than the storage of the information store. See more information about recovery of MS Exchange data in this section of our online help.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
