Getting error 0x0004000E when creating Bootable Media for VM Recovery

Thread needs solution

I have the Advanced version of Acronis Backup 11.7, and I'm trying to create bootable media when recovering to virtual machines using Hyper-V, but when I add the drivers located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\UniversalRestore\DriversPack\MSSCSI and choose to create the ISO, I get the error 0x0004000E. If I don't choose the drivers then it creates fine.

Hello Sergio,

Thank you for your posting! First of all, make sure the drivers have the *.inf, *.sys or *.oem extensions. If you download the drivers in the *.exe, *.cab or *.zip format, extract them using a third-party application (e.g. free  7-zip tool or any other). If the issue persists even with the extracted files, I'd suggest skipping this step and create an .ISO without them. You can point to the repository with the drivers later when you apply Acronis Universal Restore to a machine. For more information see Acronis Backup 11.7/11.5: Universal Restore.

Usually, the most recent operating systems remain bootable when recovered to dissimilar hardware, or the VMware or Hyper-V platforms. So I'd recommend restoring a virtual machine without applying Acronis Universal Restore and only if the system doesn't boot - restore the bootability with the help of the AUR media.
