Hi Lourens,

The agent-less backup for Hyper-V VMs is included in Acronis Backup Advanced for Hyper-V (link) and Acronis Backup Advanced Universal (link) licenses - license defines which functionality is available while the core engine of Acronis Backup (v11.5) remains the same (same installation file and binaries).

Thank you.

Hello,

We have purchased Acronis Advanced v11.5 for Hyper V it backup Windows 2012 VM without issue, but it cannot backup Windows 2012 R2 VM. When is a patch available to fix this?

Thank you,

Freddie Tsang

Hi Freddie,

There should be no dependancy on the type of the guest OS of the VM in terms of backup process. Probably there are some differences in how the virtual disks are organized for the VM which fails to be backed up in your case. Note that currently VMs with disks on on SMB3.0 shares cannot be backed up. A patch for this problem is coming in the next update for Acronis Backup 11.5 (to be released early in Feb.). If this is not the case then please post the exact error message you get when trying to back up problematic VM so that I can advise further.

Thank you.
