Missing Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys

Hope well. I am restoring onto a HyperV machine.
I have made bootable media from acronis 11.5 windows agent.
I have been following this guide:https://kb.acronis.com/content/35681

Two problems I have;

1) see attached screen shot, my boot media home screen does not have the "apply universal restore" listed under actions. Liie in the attached manuel.

2) I do not have the option in my recovery options to check the universal restore option , the checkbox is not there. As the attached image acronis provides

Is this because my tib file is in a acronis vault? It is not a secure zone, just a vault.

Thanks Guys
J

Hi Guys

Just an update of my problem.
I have taken photos of my screen when I run the boot media.
I do not have any option to make use of universal restore. As per pictures.

The backup lives in a acronis vault and is a full backup of server2008r2 .
I will not be able to roll out this backup out on a HyperV maxhine without universal restore.

Please find pics. I am wondering why I have no universal restore option.
We just purchased 11.5 for server to facilitate this.
Thanks Guys, any help will be great

Hello Jason, after Update 5 (Build 38927, 38929), Universal Restore provided free of charge as a separate tool. You can download the Universal Restore under your account in the registered products. The product must be registered under your account.

After downloading and installing Universal Restore, you can create bootable media where Apply Universal Restore option will be available. Moreover if you build the media on the same machine where Acronis Backup is installed, you can choose both components (Acronis backup and Universal Restore) and create one media at once.

Documentation about Universal Restore is here (pdf): www.acronis.com/en-us/download/docs/aur/userguide/

The article that you mentioned (kb.acronis.com/content/35681) relates to build 43916 or all pre-Update 5 builds.

Please check you build number.
