Need license for a storage node?

Thread needs solution

Ok, possibly silly question for a very new user.

Do we need a Acronis license for a physical machine (windows based) when it is used only as a secondary storage node for our virtual environment?  We have the licenses for the hosts of our vmware environment.

thanks.

Hi,

All management components which are not directly responsible for initial backup/recovery functionality do not require a license. This means that Acronis Storage Node or Acronis Management Server (or Acronis PXE Server, etc.) do not require a license. Practically you need licenses for protected resources (machines/hosts) only.

Thank you.
