Not able to backup OpenVPN / Ubuntu Hyper-V VM? No error?

Thread needs solution

Hi -

We have an OpenVPN Access Server VM installed on a Hyper-V host server. Download available here:

https://openvpn.net/index.php/access-server/download-openvpn-as-vm/202…

I noticed that my full backup of this VM is only 10K in size. If I open the archive nothing is inside. The logs do not indicate an error during the backup.

According to the notes this is a Ubuntu-based VM.

Any reason why Acronis is not able to back this up? Even more concerning to me is that Acronis does not indicate an error during the backup. Shouldn't Acronis be detecting that the backup is not successful and warning me?

Thanks

Hi,

The backup log should indicate if there were no disks backed up. Typically there is a "Disk is skipped"warning which means that no data has been backed up. If there is no such message then it's an issue in the product and it needs to be reproduced locally in our QA lab. Please contact our support team with reference to this thread, so that we can try reproducing the problem and fixing it ina hotfix/update.

Thank you.

I do not see any kind of warning in the log and the backup plan shows a completion status of OK.
