Online backup fails for two VMs

Thread needs solution

Hello, I have a Windows 2008R2 Hyper-V host with 6 guests on it. 4 of the guests are backing up fine, but two give an ACCESS DENIED error. Even if i try to backup these machines individually, it fails with the same error. i have no problems backing them up to local storage. The two VMs that are not backing up were originally on a different host machine, and were moved. The other four that are working were also on a different host and were moved, but seem to work fine. When i look at the Online storage vault, i can still see the old host machines and guests that no longer exist. Perhaps the old ones are interfering? is there a way to delete these? When i try, i get a message 'connect the management console to machine to delete its archives.' Well the server is offline. surely there is a way to delete the old archives and reclaim space if the server is offline. Here is the errors i am getting in the log entry details. Thanks for your help in advance.

It looks like you hav two online backup subscriptions (http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11.5/index.html#9470.ht…) and one of them is assigned to the current machine and the two of undeletable VMs were backed up using another one, which is still assigned to the old machine (and then continues to expire as if you were using it). You can check details in your account on the acronis site. If it is so, you can probably assign the wrong subscription to some other machine, and delete archives using it. This however doesn't solve problem with expiring unused subscription if my guess is not wrong.

Thanks for your help. i think this might be the problem. I re-assigned the online subscription to a different computer. However, i get a similar error when i try to delete the old archives. Do you have any suggestions for this? Thank you again!

Well, I'd contact support then. Maybe something is wrong with your subscriptions on server, maybe you tried to reassign a subscription not in the right way.

It let me delete the old ones after i reassigned them a second time. i have started the online backup again. hopefully it will work this time. i will let you know soon. thanks again for your help!
