Replication of Linux Server

Thread needs solution

Dear All,

I have esxi 5.5 and vmprotect. When I try to replicate a linux server w/ a 3TB disk, 5xxG Data. It will keep increase the HDD space of destination vm, until it full. Since the target host only have 9xxG free space. It will keeping increase until it full.

On before, the replication is normal until yesterday I deleted the target machine. What should i do?

Thanks in advance.

Jacky

Hi Jacky,

The creation of replica disks in "thick" instead of "thin" provisioning (which seems to happen in your case) is typically caused by broken/outdated CBT record on the _original_ (source) VM. This is very likely to be the root cause since you have removed the replica machine. Please try resetting CBT on the original VM as described in solution section of https://kb.acronis.com/content/45682 article - this should do the trick and allow VM replication to complete properly with "thin" disks.

Thank you.
