Requirements for ABR 11.5 on Exchange 2010
On upgrading of my ABR from 11 to 11.5 on an Exchange 2010 environment, I see that one of the requirements is to install CDO 1.2.1.

It seems like the link is broken. I googled and found this instead. Is it the same thing?

Any other things I need to prep the machines before I conduct the upgrade?
- upgrading it SP2?
- disable VSS? applicable for Windows 2008 standard?
Thanks

Thanks Fedor.
No, I'm not installing any ABR agent. So I guess I can just upgrade without install further requirement.
When ABR 11.5 is said to support Exchange 2010, does it means that it will trim the exchange transaction logs after full backup?
For my current situation, my Acronis full backup grow substantially every week because of the transaction logs. I have to perform a Windows Native Full Backup to commit the changes so that I can trim the transaction logs.

You always install some ABR agent on the machine that backs up something, though it may be not explicitly stated during installation - you can see them in 'add/remove programs' in control panel. Leaving aside virtual machines backup , in version 11 there is Agent for Windows for backing up disks and files.
The section "Upgrading of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Microsoft Exchange Server" and mentioned support of Exchange 2010 relate to another agent - Agent for MS Exchange (with its own license), that allows granular backup and restore of Exchange data. If you had no Recovery for Exchange installed along with version 11, this part doesn't apply.
In current build of 11.5 you can' t turn on transaction logs truncation. In the update planned for this month, there will be an option to truncate logs of all VSS-aware applications by setting 'Full' VSS backup mode.

Thanks Fedor.
In fact, I already have Exchange Recovery with me but yet to be installed. My current environment only has ABR 11 and I'm looking to upgrade it properly and make sure I've all the essentials.
I can hold off the Exchange Recovery for the time being since we avoid restoring at mailbox level, but it is the machine backup which is my priority at this point of time.
Since the truncating option will be available soon, do you advise that I wait for the update?

Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Exchange offers granular backup of (selected) Exchange databases, it's not limited to mailbox-level restore. However as you can currently live with your scheme occasionally executing native backup, I think this update can satisfy your needs.

i can't help but dwell on your comment about an update planned for this month, that it will be able to truncate the logs. so it would be something like ABR 11.6? and will be certain for release?

It will be called "11.5 Update 1", the same release that will add support for Windows 8. Exact date of release is unknown yet.

Hi Fedor,
now that Update 1 is released (which I will be upgrading to Build 37613), does it helps to truncate the transaction logs after backup?
I'm asking because I don't see it being explicitly mentioned here: http://www.acronis.com.sg/my/products/changes.html?p=12796

This options might be not that important to be included in release notes. But it's there - http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11.5/#12865.html , under 'Enabling VSS Full backup'
