we are using Acronis 11.5 on different version of RHEL . We are doing Backup then Restore of 1mb*32768 files which is equivalent to 32GB on our secondary Storage called HYDRAStor. We are facing issue during the restore of these files. Restore take 2.30 hrs to 4 hrs. to complete on diiferent RHEL.Please check the analysis report in attachment.
Our Query : Can you please provide any option in acronis to improve the restore ?

Hello Rashi,

please clarify where are your backups stored and how long it takes to copy the same amount of data outside of Acronis?

Thank you.

32GB that belongs to 32768 files...????
2.5H to restore it sound OK...
you have to know that it will have to check 65536 files..... ~ more then 7 files check per second.. sound really fast.

Hello,

If we are backinup data using acronis on ousr seconadry storage it take approx 25 minutes. where as if we are using another application such as netbackup, networker, TSM for restore of same data as we mention above above it will take :

netbackup --> 18 minute
networker -->13 minute
TSM --> 21 minute
NETVAULT --> 16 minute
if we compare the accronis with other application , we can not consider it as good backup application.

Regards
Rashi

Acronis is built for image's....
For me, the TSM was very, very, very slow and ask for too much license, and never ever could restore full computer to a new one without install OS first on it...

But, no one is going to fight you... :-)

I am not satisfied by your answer because we are using different backup software which give wonderful performance and their installation is also easy.
