Tape Backup Message: Cannot find tape to continue backup.

Thread needs solution

Hello

I'm having trouble making backups to IBM TS3100 Tape.
I am receiving the message that is attached.
All tapes are free.
The backup starts but in the middle of the process says it can not find the tape any more. If I press ok it tries again and gives the same message and if I press Cancel, it stops the backup process.

Hi, probably you don't have empty tapes or all tapes contain backups/incermentals that are not marked as deleted in software's database (or have depending backups from another) so the software cannot take and ovewrite such tapes.

Hello, Andrey.
Thanks for your response.

Actually I have free tapes and also have tapes with many backups marked for deletion.
What happens is that Acronis finds one of those tapes to back up, but in the middle of the process it gives the message I attached.
It's as if I suddenly can not find the tape or the space to continue the backup.

I have a cluster with 2 nodes and 2 other servers apart without doing tape backups at 2 months because of this problem.

When I first set up the backup a few months ago, and so far, it ran normally. It started to get in trouble when the tapes started to fill up. But there are many backups that are marked for deletion.

I tried to get a tape and turn an "Erase" on the tape itself so that it was cleared. After that I just put a pool with this tape and the same problem occurred.

I also tried to change my tape drive to Sequential or instead of Randomica, then Acronis does not even recognize the tapes anymore.

I do not know where to proceed.

It is hard to understand what goes wrong. Please contact Acronis support for deep investigation.
