TOL: Failed to execute the command.
Please excuse me if I am not posting correctly. I am new to Forum.
The problem has been happening for a couple of months now. Not sure exactly what I had done to cause it, but nothing I have tried corrects it.
The situation is with Acronis 11.7 for windows workstation. I have a number of backup that are scheduled and I believe all are have the same related problem. Although from looking at the Backup plans and tasks all the backups are showing OK and the backup seems to be all there. I have even restored from a backup.
However, the problem is that the backup reports in an email notification that it failed (but I can't see that it has) When I look at alerts it shows as failed. my email notification showing log shows:
1 Information 2/20/2019 10:00:01 PM Task 'Daily backup' was started. 2 Information 2/20/2019 10:00:01 PM Task 'Daily backup' was started. 3 Information 2/20/2019 10:00:02 PM Command 'Running backup plan 'C_D drive Daily to E-Bkup'' is running. 4 Information 2/20/2019 10:00:22 PM Child process has exited with code '-16'. 5 Information 2/20/2019 10:00:22 PM TOL: Failed to execute the command. Task 'Daily backup' has failed on machine 'Shasta'.
I can certainly turn off the notifications but sometimes the backup really does fail and I want to know what is wrong.
Can anyone help me with this? Again I believe my backups are running and completing I am just getting the Failed messages.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Randy,
welcome to Acronis forums!
According to your logs, in 'Daily SdriveBkup to E_drive' backup plan some pre-backup command has failed to execute before creating a backup.
Please open this backup plan and check what pre-backup command should have been performed and why it failed to execute.

By turning off the Pre/Post Command I got it to not report the error. So I am playing with that a bit. The command has worked for several years and I don't know why it stopped working.
The other thing that has been bothering me is that if I go to OPTIONS and then Default Backup and Recovery Options and then in the Defaults I change the notification email address. It will not keep this new setting as a Default. I seem to only be able to go into each individual backup task and change it there or it will not stay. If I change it in the OPTIONS and Default Backup and Recovery Options it is like it is never saved. As soon as I go back into the OPTIONS and Default backup and Recovery Options it is back to where it was before I saved it the time before.

Hello Randy,
your screenshots show that you change user name which uses for authentication of the outgoing mail server.
Could you please clarify whether you receive these email notifications? It could be a GUI issue.
Otherwise please collect the following diagnostic information and contact Acronis Support Team

Yes, I receive the email, but the default email rrjm@vonronne.com is not the one I want to use as default I want Bkup@vonronne.com and when I try to change the default options it goes back to rrjm@vonronne.com when I look at it or create a new backup task and look at the notification email it will be rrjm@vonronne.com
