Unable to see Centralized Vault when connecting Storage Node from Remote Site (WAN)

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I had setup a Centralized Vault (Vault1) with deduplication ON.

In a local LAN environment, i am able to select Vault1 as the destination when creating a backup task.

However, when trying to setup a backup tast from a remote computer (WAN),i am unable to see this Vault1 from the Storage Node drop down. i am able to login remotely to the storage node but unable to see any drop drop Vaults under it

Could you please advice if theres any steps that i missed out in setting up the Storage Node.

Thank you.

Hi,

The main requirement for successfull addressing of centralized vault is proper DNS resolution of Acronis Storage Node machine from the backup agent side (i.e. from your remote computer). Make sure that you can ping your ASN machine from remote computer via DNS name and if not then you can manually adjust it via editing \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. If this doesn't help please contact our support team for assistance.

Thank you.

Hi Vasily,

I am able to ping the ASN machine from the remote side.

Just to make sure, i also added the DNS name and ip into the hosts file.

But unfortunataly, the end results is the same. i am still unable to see the centralized vaults. No vault is listed when i click on the drop down under the ddns name.

Any other solutions?

Hi,

In this case it makes sense to contact our support team for assistance. We'll need to review your particular environment setup and analyze it + logs in order to figure out what could be the problem. Without additional information it's really hard to guess.

Thank you.
