what is the advantage of using an agent for backup over an agentless backup on hyper V virtual servers
Hi All
I am currently running a trial edition of Acronis advanced backup and recovery 11.5 for the backing up of four Hyper V windows 2008 servers all being run on the one physical server host,
I was advised by the Acronis reseller to use this version of Acronis because the backup of Hyper V machines needs agents to be installed on each virtual server for it to be backed up.
I have noticed after installation that the option to backup a virtual server is their even if it does not have an agent installed. It can be found in the all virtual machines directory of the main Acronis Manager console,
My question is what do I gain by using an agent over agentless backups on hyper V virtual servers?
Thanks

advantages with agent less is it won't add more burden on your guest OS
it backup very fast
but there is lot of disadvantages with agent less like
if you restore guest system network won't come up ( your need to configure manual IP address even if you restore to same VM)
files & folders restore is not available
