XenCenter VM restore missing XenCenter driver
We bought Acronis 11.5 to evaluate for XenCenter VM backups and restores at customer sites, of our product on an Intel 2600 server, nothing else on the server, just the one VM. The VM is windows 2008 R2 x64
I installed Acronis 11.5 on the XenCenter VM, and did a backup, just fine, to a NAS.
Created the bootable media on the NAS, and on a USB, windows options.
But on a restore back to the very same VM, I get a missing driver. Acronis support says it is missing a 32 bit driver from Citrix/XenCenter, but we are running 64 bit(I assume it is all 64 bit),
I am using the restore media restoring from the NAS (as a CD/DVD) ISO and a USB through the XenCenter VM, using universal restore.
The restore is going back to the very same XenCenter server/VM that it came from.
Just as an added wrinkle, If I restore a backup of a physical server to the VM, that works, no missing drivers.
It’s only VM back to VM that fails, which is the purpose of using Acronis.
