Hello!

Welcome to Acronis forums!

We recommend that you choose 64-bit (x64), regardless of whether your Windows is 64-bit or 32-bit.

Note on the option "32-bit (x86)":
The option "32-bit (x86)" under the "Architecture" drop-down list is for very rare cases of tablets and other devices, that run 32-bit UEFI firmware - not to be confused with 32-bit Windows!

Hello and a bump from me because we are facing the same problem.

We´ve purchased a few licenses for Backup 12.5 to test if it will be the right product for our Plant and installed a Backup Management Server. We want to Backup Industrial PCs in the manufacturing area and a lot of them are still running on x86 Hardware. Some of them with XP SP3 or older. Because of this I want to create a PXE Bootable Media with both x86 and x64 support. So i will have to bring up Mario´s question again.

In Acronis True Image Universal Restore Boot Media Builder you can select both Architectures but with True Image you can´t Restore Images created with Backup Advanced. :(

Thanks in advance and greetings

Andreas

Hello Andreas,

thanks for posting your question on Acronis forums.

In order to create a 32-bit rescue media, you should run Acronis Bootable Media Builder on a 32-bit system (i.e. your XP SP3).

Hello Maria,

thanks for your answer.

So it is not possible anymore, like with version 11.7, to create one boot Media with both architectures. Is this planned for future Versions?

Greetings

Andreas

Hello Andreas.

In Acronis Backup 12.5, there is no possibility to create bootable media for 32-bit architectures on 64-bit systems.

It was excluded due to too low demand (moreover, in most cases 32-bit Windows is confused with 32-bit firmware when it really runs on 64-bit systems).
