AB12.5 Advanced - Deduplication - unified_data.ds.0 ?

Thread needs solution

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently trying Acronis Backup 12.5 Advanced and i have created a backup plan with deduplication.

Can anyone tell me what the file "unified_data_ds.0"  (in my repository folder) is ?

Thanks for your help,

Best regards,

Hello Anthony,

If you create backups to a managed vault with the enabled deduplication, the backed up data will be stored using the following structure: the vault folder will store backup files reduced as a result of deduplication and one or two large files (datastores) that contain data items unique to the vault. The datastore files are called unified_data_ds.0 and unified_data_ds.1. The vault database stores the links (hash values) that are necessary to ‘assemble’ the deduplicated data.

So basically the datastore (unified_data_ds.0 or unified_data_ds.1) is a special file within the vault, storing blocks of data, with no duplicates
