Acronis Backup 12.5 Standard - Failed to load the metadata of archive

Thread needs solution

I have recently upgraded from AB12 to AB12.5 standard.  I have a number of backup plans that replicate the backup data across a WAN link.  I've noticed that some of the backup plans are failing to replicate the data after the backup has completed.

Summary or errors below.  Please note that the archive has already been created but has stopped working since the update.

  • Failed to create an archive in location
  • Failed to load the metadata of archive
  • Failed to open file 'ServerName-ADB83B20-B154-4BF0-802C-9AE63298BA89-500FCCD5-1248-7699-D290-9FD61E28EBB1A.xml'
  • The drive is not ready
  • Device or resource busy

I've renamed one of the replicated backups including the XML file and started the backup and replication again.  This seems to resolve the issue.

Is there a way to fix the XML file so I don't need to re-seed the other broken replicated backups?

Hello Mark,

We haven't seen an issue like this in our testing labs, so this will require a bit of investigation.

Could you clarify the backup location (what type), the replication location, number of replication stage, whether or not the archive is encrypted?

Also, I will send you a PM with some FTP credentials. Could you upload an example of the XML to this address?
