Acronis Backup 12.5 U2 failed

Thread needs solution

Dear Supporters,

we recently developed the new 12.5 Update2 to a brand new ESXi Server (The all in one appliance). That was our choice with Version 9 as well. First bad impression was the none changeable IP address within the gui. We managed to change that with console access. Then we changed the ESXi Host to a new static IP address but the "Description" in the Management UI seems not to be editable.Then we deleted the "Host" and were not able to readd the Host to the system. There was just a blank error message with a red X. That behavior is not acceptable. We are re-installing the appliance again to give it a try.

Hi Alexander,

The IP configuration of the appliance can be changed from the initial setup screen. On the first boot menu you get 2 choices: "Install or update Acronis Backup" + "Continue booting OS". If you select the 1st item, then in a few seconds you'll see the blue-background menu with installation settings, where you can configure the hostname + IP Settings + define the password for "root" account.

What you did probably is selected the 1st option and then let it run - upon 50 seconds timeout the installation starts automatically with default options (DHCP/hostname/non-defined root password) if you don't do anything in the blue-background installation menu.
