Is acronis linux backup supported OS backup without to install acronis agent on server?

Thread needs solution

We have Linux physical servers to test backup but we don't want to install any agent on server.

Can we do backup these server offline (boot server with boot CD) then backup to storage server?

Remark: we're using RHEL 7.6

Hello Watcharapong,

welcome to Acronis forums!

You will need to assign a license when creating Acronis Bootable Media in order to perform backup/restore of your Linux server. Otherwise, this media will not allow you to perform backup but only restore as for the trial version of the software.

However, please note that backing up with Bootable Media does not have scheduling option and you have to reboot your servers each time to perform a backup.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. As we're doing POC on new product, how can we get the evaluate license to test offline backup?

Thanks,

Watcharapong.

Another question, does BareMetal backup for Linux physical server support restore to dissimilar hardware (another server model)?

Thanks,

Watcharapong

Hello Watcharapong.

Please open a case with Acronis Support Team and ask for a test key for evaluation purposes.

There is Acronis Universal Restore for Linux. We recommend using this tool to update the drivers and modules that are critical for the operating system startup. You will need to click Apply Universal Restore when booting the machine from the Acronis Bootable Media.
