The activity has failed due to a restart of the service.

Thread needs solution

Acronis Backup 12.5 running on Windows Server 2012 R2 with all Windows Updates.

On a clean hard drive (partitioned, formatted) backup will run maybe for 1 or 2 days and then will fail with this error. In order to get the backup working on this drive again, need to remove all backups from the drive (Format).

I have confirmed the service is running with correct permissions.

Hi,

The problem is related to new (default) backup format v12 used in the backup plan in combination with the backup location (F:\ drive which appears to be external one). Some of such problems have been addressed in the upcoming Acronis Backup 12.5 Update 1 (ABR-133097), however the issue in your case might be different, so you should contact our support team for assistance.

The temporary workaround for the issue would be to use backup format v11: configure a new backup plan and set Backup Options->Backup format->Version 11.

The current Update 1 (build #7970) addresses most of such problems and if you still have similar symptoms then likely there is a different root cause which needs to be investigated further with our support team involved.
