Backup in a mess since upgrading from 7970 to 10330

Thread needs solution

After updating from 7970 to 10330 in an attempt to fix an SQL issue (see thread here https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-backup-125/strange-sql-backup-i…) all my backups started failing with "Backup failed input/output error"

I got this issue resolved by moving all my existing backup out of the way and running them all from fresh.

Now I have another issue, several backups are giving me warnings of:

"Warning
The virtual machine may be backed up without using Changed Block Tracking (CBT) because the machine has snapshots. For the details, see https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1020128
To avoid this warning, either disable CBT in the backup options or delete the snapshots."

These servers have no snapshots, and appear to have backup up incrementally anyway, regardless of what the warning says.

Hello, cw1972!

"Backup failed input/output error" issue may be caused by many reasons: network issues, source/target storage issues, file system issues, hardware issues etc.
The best option in this particular situation is to open support ticket in Acronis Support.

Hi Daniil,

All my Input / Output errors were resolved by doing nothing more than moving the existing backups and running them all again from scratch.

I made no other changes at all and after I had ran them all from scratch there have been no more Input / Output errors since - so it clearly wasn't environmental.

I do have other small issues to resolve now but they don't seem critical and are only affecting a very small number of VM's.

Thanks,

Christian
