Canceling a Task is Treated as an Error

Thread needs solution

If we cancel a running task, it is treated as an error.

Not only does it generate alerts, but this causes the task to re run later, according to our task restart behavior.

For example, we have a default setting to restart a failed task after 30 minutes, trying up to 4 times.

If I want to manually cancel a task, it'll just follow the failure behavior and restart 30 minutes later.

Is this the expected behavior? If so, we'll have to disable the task restart functionality entirely.  We need to be able to cancel tasks because some of them take more than 24 hours (I'll be posting about that in a bit...).

Hi Brian,

The described behavior looks like a bug and I'm checking with our QA team to confirm the behavior, so that we can address this issue in the next update for Acronis Backup 12.5. Task cancelling should not trigger re-try attempts even if they are enabled in the backup plan settings.

Thank you.
