Compaction Command Issues

Thread needs solution

We did a very large backup to our dedup store which took up around 600GB. We then deleted the backup a few days later after we were done with it. There does not seem to be any space recovered from that deletion or the weekly compaction. We have 6.4TB used on the disk in the dedup store right now.

We attempted to use the acrocmd to do a manual compaction

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\Common>acrocmd compact vault --name="Primary Storage" --host=HOSTNAME --credentials=CREDENTIALS --service=asn

Manually running that compaction command instantly completes with a runtime of 1s, which doesn't seem right. Is there anyway to see the statistics on the vault to see if compaction is completing successfully?

Granite Associates,

Thank you for your posting. Did I get it right, that compacting runs for 1 second and is OK, but when you check the storage, nothing was being compacted?

First, you need to make sure that there is enough space on the affected machine; it requires 1 GB to start.

Secondly, I would suggest you to submit a support ticket so that my colleagues could analyze the logs and check the root cause.

Thank you!
