Deduplication not working?

Thread needs solution

I tried to set up deduplication with Acronis Backup 12.5 (on a disk in the same server, with the dedup database stored on another disk in the same server) but we got error 10285, which said that the drive used for deduplication is not ready for Version 12. There is no documentation anywhere as to what is necessary for deduplication to work - there is a best practices page but that only concerns performance and we upheld all recommendations anyway. I found some entries here on the forum, but all of those are for version 11.7 or lower.

So, did anyone get this to work with version 12.5? Any documentation that covers error 10285? AFAIK the only thing I can do to enable deduplication is to flick the appropriate switch when setting up the backup location - and i did that... so what else do i have to do to make this work?

You need to change backup format to version 11 in backup plan options, deduplication doesn't work when this option is set to version 12.

Thanks!

The error message made me think that it was supposed to be version 12 for deduplication...
