Difference between different versions of the same storage location
I have a weird problem with a large backup system with many moving parts.
The system was built before I got here, but not expertly. After several months, and plenty of patience, it's finally at a point where we almost have everything backing up as needed.
One of the problems with managing the space, however, is that certain storage spaces are represented more than once, and each representation of the same storage space can't see the objects in the other representation.
All of the attached images are the same actual drive, but as you can see, the contents differ based on the "backup location". All of these were browsed from the same agent, the one installed on the machine hosting the drives.
I have 2 main problems.
1. I would like to consolidate these, to prevent fragmented or lost backups. The only way I can see to do it is by exporting each backup separately (or creating a replication job), and then deleting them from the source. The problem is that, as you can see, we're dealing with a lot of data here; ideally if there were a method to cut and paste instead, I'd be all for that. Any suggestions?
2. How can I get the most accurate reading of available space? None of the listed amounts of space reflect what I see in windows explorer.
Thanks in advance for any help!
