Exchange aware backup - ABR 12.5 for virtualisation
Hi all,
I am struggling to get an Exchange aware backup working with ABR 12.5 for virtualisation, I have tried many things and now feel I am getting close.
As we know, when you enable Exchange Application within the backup, if it fails on an stage then the whole backup fails.
First of all I tried enabling the Exchange Application within the backup using all default options - gave me a problem creating an quiesced snapshot - backup fails.
The I tried disabling quiescing within the backup options - still failed creating quiesced snapshot - backup fails.
I changed the VSS options from automatic to speficially used Microsoft provider - failes with quiseced backup - backup failed.
Tried changing the attribute within the VM itself 'diskEnabledUUID' from true to false - this caused real problems so had to revert that right away.
Closest I have got is recently I installed the Acronis agent within the Exchange VM and then I got the 'Microsoft Exchange' option under devices, I thought I was onto something here, but that backup failed with various access denied errors:
"22:02 — 22:05

Does the user account I connect the backup plan to the exchange require a specific Exchange related permission within Active Directory?
Could anyone offer some suggestions or pointers here?
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Christian

The user account that I am using is a member of the Exchange Organisation Administrators Active Directory Security Group by the way.

Hi Christian,
Your case is too complex to solve it via forum. Please, create support ticket (probably, remote session with developer is needed).
Also, please update the product to Update 1 (build 7641). I cannot guarantee that your issue is fixed, but many other issues are fixed in the Update 1.
