How to create a Storage server location in version 12 format?
Ok, I'm making the assumption that this is possible. Because if I create a new backup plan and explicitly request version 12 format but target a completely new blank storage server location it complains it's in version 11 format.
so
HOW do you create a new storage location in version 12 format? Is it possible or are all storage server locations only in version 11 format?

Yes I am seeing some other errors. I thought I waited for enough updates before moving to 12.5 but I guess not. I have done 2 support requests. 1 they did not know the answer and did not have documentation but I figured it out just by guessing and testing while the support person was looking for help from a colleague and the second is a known bug they are working to fix in the next version relating to snapshots of hyper-v machines in a cluster not working.
This is thankfully my smaller deployment. The bigger one is on older version.

I went through this with support and came out with 2 things.
1) v12 is not supported when the Storage Node has deduplication enabled.
2) If you create a non-dedup storage node and set it to v12, the storage node still shows as v11. However if you run v12 backups they will show as v12. Not sure if this is a display bug but the support person says they "notified the developers."
We stuck with v11 dedup backups because although i wanted to go with the latest version v12 seems to be just plain worse since you can't use dedup.
