Installation fails on Windows 10 Pro x64 1703 (Creators Update)

Thread needs solution

Hello,

After I faced some problems with backups failing because of a 'service restart', I uninstalled AB.

Good idea - now I can't install it anymore, see the attached screenshot of the error dialog.

Any help would be appreciated...

Hi,

There should be an installation log generated under \ProgramData\Acronis\InstallationLogs\ after the failure (+ there should be a link from installer GUI). Can you please attach it (pack in .zip) along with Windows system information outputs (Win+R->msinfo32->save as .nfo), so that I can advise further?

Thank you.

Hi,

I will send you a FTP link where you can upload the files in a private message shortly.

Thank you.

Just want to update this post.

The advice from Vasily:

======================================================================

According to the log file the installation fails because the user "Acronis Agent User" is listed

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\Installer\CreatedServiceUser\

registry key, while it may be not present in the system. Please try removing the

entire HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\Installer\CreatedServiceUser\ key (export it just in case) and then re-run the installation. It should help.

======================================================================

After deleting this key, I was able to install AB without any problems.

Thank you
