Installing StorageNode, AMS & AmsWebServer On Client

Thread solved

When I first started with 11.5 I managed to install the StorageNode, AMS & AmsWebServer on an existing Client to allow locally connected PC's to back up to it.

Why I hear people shouting...

Well I have several machines within a Shopfloor environment with PC's inside that are on the corporate LAN and are backing up to my Acronis Server. Fine.
I also have some machines with a few internal PC's on a local LAN(192.16) connected to the PC on the corporate LAN.
Obviously backing these up to the Server seems impossible until I noticed, I could install the StorageNode on the 'public' PC and backup the 'private' PC's to it, and in turn replicate those to the Server retrospectively.

12.5 has messed up that idea... :o(
Seems I can no longer export the MSI's needed for StorageNode, AMS & AmsWebServer.

Is there another option or do I need to stick with 11.5 for these few 'clusters'?

By the way, buying Server for tyhe Client(public) is expensive and I am sure the installer will moan that the OS is not Server edition...

Hello Steve,

In Acronis Backup 12.5 you can run the same installation file on those machines where you need to install Management Server, Storage Node etc and select the components to be installed there. AMS WebServer will be installed automatically with Management Server.

Thanks for the reply Maria.

I have just gone through the 12.5.11010 installer again to check.
The front page, at the top, says 'The management server cannot be installed in this operating system'.
So I continued by clicking [customise installation settings] and on the next page on the first item 'What to install' click [change].
Stroage Node is not listed, but at the bottom, under 'The following components cannot be installed' it lists 'Management Server' which confirms what the front page said.

To clarify, the client is Windows XP SP3.

Hello Steve,

That explains the issue. Windows XP SP3 is not supported by Management Server and Storage Node in Acronis Backup 12.5. However, this OS is supported by Acronis Agents for Windows.

Ah OK. So I can either downgrade to 11.5, if I can't upgrade the PC.

Or if I can upgrade to Windows 7 then I can install.

Thanks for the help.

Steve
